Call For Ringers
As we enter our 35th year of ringing, we're seeking individuals in Northeast Oklahoma with a passion for handbell ringing. This could be you! Pre-registration is REQUIRED! Please use the registration link to the left to reserve an audition slot.
TFR rehearses twice a week from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Ringers are expected to make a serious commitment to rehearsal time by arriving promptly (read: early) and preparing their music. We have lots of fun, but are serious about our art.
Auditions are performed in front of a committee consisting of the Music Director and 2 other judges. Ringers are assessed during a 5-7 minute individual session on the battery bells (no Four-In-Hand/Shelley ringing), but if you play a high-treble part, you are expected to know how to ring with that technique.
You will be graded on rhythms in a variety of meters, as well as ringing techniques including damping, LV, martellato, the use of mallets, and weaving. This portion is unaccompanied, and the candidate is free to choose any tempo desired, just be consistent. 🙂
Following the individual auditions, the candidates will ring as a directed ensemble for approximately 1 hour in a variety of positions around the table (C3 - C8) so that the judges can assess their skills when operating in a group setting (musicality, dynamics, sight reading, etc). The group session will also be on September 11 at 6:30 pm.

A history of Excellence
34 Years of Music
The Tulsa Festival Ringers is Tulsa's premier handbell ensemble. The group has been conducting concerts and events in northeastern Oklahoma for 34 years and is the oldest community handbell ensemble in the state.
The group has proudly performed with many local artists and channels, including the Tulsa Signature Symphony, News on 6 (KOTV), and even the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. They have been a regular at TPAC's "Brown Bag It" series, helping to ring in Christmas for many years.
In addition to these community concerts, the group tours periodically and has performed at numerous local, regional, national and international symposia.
